Johnson & Johnson / Ortho Evra

Ortho Evra is a birth control patch from Johnson & Johnson.

The Public Citizen's Health Research Group has been petitioning the FDA to remove it from the market following complaints that the patch, which adheres to the skin, causes blood clots in legs or lungs together with heart attack and strokes.

Gloria Vanderham, a spokeswoman for Johnson & Johnson refutes the complaints stating "When used according to the FDA-approved label, Ortho Evra is a safe and effective method of hormonal birth control"

SO shit-grippingly safe that Johnson & Johnson have so far paid $68.7 million in private settlements over Ortho Evra related claims.
